Valletta Pageant of the Seas returns to the Grand Harbour

The Valletta Cultural Agency, within the Ministry for Arts, Culture and National Heritage, will once again present the Valletta Pageant of the Seas on Friday, 24 July 2026, transforming Valletta’s Grand Harbour into the stage for one of the summer’s flagship cultural events.

Minister Malcolm Paul Agius Galea explained that “The Valletta Pageant of the Seas demonstrates how we can breathe new life into our historic heritage through culture and creativity. The Grand Harbour is not only a symbol of our nation’s history but also a living space that brings together communities, families and visitors through a high-quality cultural experience. As a government, we remain committed to investing in events that make culture more accessible while strengthening Malta’s cultural identity and contributing to quality tourism.”

Jason Micallef, Chairman of the Valletta Cultural Agency, said: “The Valletta Cultural Agency is once again preparing a spectacular edition of the Valletta Pageant of the Seas, which will transform the Grand Harbour into an unforgettable stage on 24 July. We invite the public to join us at Xatt Ta’ Liesse and experience this unique spectacle from the very heart of the action, where the magic of the Grand Harbour comes alive in a choreographed evening of sea vessels, light, water fountains, music and fireworks.”

Carlo Micallef, Chief Executive Office of the Malta Tourism Authority said: “The Valletta Pageant of the Seas exemplifies the type of high-quality authentic cultural experiences that continue to elevate Malta’s tourism offering. At the Malta Tourism Authority, we are proud to support events that celebrate our unique heritage while delivering world-class experiences capable of attracting discerning international visitors. By investing in flagship events such as this, we are strengthening Malta’s position as a premium Mediterranean destination, encouraging higher-value tourism, extending visitor engagement, and showcasing the exceptional character of our islands on the international stage.”

The evening will commence at 8:00pm at Quarry Wharf (Ta’ Liesse), Valletta, where Tikka Banda will welcome audiences with an interactive musical performance, creating a vibrant atmosphere ahead of the main spectacle.

As darkness falls, the Grand Harbour will become the stage for the Valletta Pageant of the Seas. A procession of illuminated yachts, traditional Maltese boats, sailing vessels and kayaks will make their way across the harbour in a carefully choreographed display, accompanied by music, synchronised water fountain displays and laser projections. The evening will culminate in a fireworks finale.

Combining contemporary lighting, water effects and Malta’s maritime heritage, the production celebrates the unique character of Valletta and its historic Grand Harbour.

The Valletta Pageant of the Seas is organised by the Valletta Cultural Agency with the support of Visit Malta. Admission is free.
