The 2024 FiftySix<\/strong> Design Talk series kicks off with fusion of art and technology, a theme aptly named ‘Sonic Alchemy’, on Wednesday 24th January at Valletta Design Cluster.<\/p>\n

This perfectly captures the essence of the evening\u2019s stars, Aidan Somers and Christian Heinrichs, each a master in their respective fields.<\/p>\n

Aidan Somers<\/strong> isn\u2019t just a musician; he\u2019s a storyteller through sound. His music, spanning the tranquil depths of ambient to the pulsing rhythms of electronica, has a way of capturing the listener\u2019s imagination. As the founder of AISO Records, Aidan doesn\u2019t just create music; he\u2019s shaping the future of sound by nurturing up-and-coming artists. Whether performing as himself or under his electronic alter ego, Alias 1, Aidan\u2019s work is a testament to the power of musical exploration.<\/span><\/p>\n

Then there\u2019s Christian Heinrichs<\/strong>, a sound designer who marries art with technology. His creations have graced platforms from Adult Swim to Google Arts & Culture, touching millions with their innovative soundscapes. Christian\u2019s talk promises to be a fascinating journey through his world of interactive audio systems, stretching across various formats like web interfaces, virtual reality, digital instruments, and even the ambient sounds of electric vehicles.<\/p>\n

FiftySix is\u00a0a captivating monthly design talk series co-organized by the Golden Glitch and the\u00a0Valletta Design Cluster. This unique event brings together designers, makers, and design enthusiasts to explore and discuss contemporary design practices and projects.<\/p>\n

Each\u00a0FiftySix\u00a0event takes place monthly on a Wednesday at sunset in the Foyer of the\u00a0Valletta Design Cluster<\/a>. The format revolves around two designers, who will each have 14 minutes to present their projects, followed by an engaging 14-minute Q&A session. In just 56 minutes, you\u2019ll be immersed in a concise and focused experience that encourages meaningful discussions.<\/div>\n
