![text](link)The Valletta Cultural Agency (VCA) is inviting amateur photographers to participate in a photographic competition as part of TNAX. TNAX is a curated photographic exhibition which displays one photo a month in St. John’s Street. Over the past months, four photos have already been displayed, with the following subjects, all of which are closely linked to Valletta:
 
1. September: *Ride for Pride*
2. October: *The Swimmers*
3. November: *Triqitna*
4. December: *Inquisitive Gaze*
The VCA is inviting everyone to re-interpret these subjects – *Ride for Pride, The Swimmers, Triqitna, Inquisitive Gaze* – in your own way through the medium of photography. It is important that all photos submitted are in one way or another linked to Valletta as it is the subject of the whole project. In total, there will be three photography competitions held throughout this year with this being the final competition, with a maximum of three winners from each competition. This photography contest is open to every type of photography.
 
__**First Prize:**__
– A certificate and a mention on VCA’s social media;
– A one-year membership to an international magazine dedicated to photography of your choice (digital or print) for a maximum cost of Euro 100 (inclusive of VAT);
– Automatic inclusion in an exhibition of the winning entries in January/February 2022.
– A professionally printed and framed version of the winning photo which can be collected at the end of the exhibition in 2022;
 
__**Two Merit prizes:**__
– A certificate and a mention on VCA’s social media;
– Automatic inclusion in an exhibition of the winning entries in January/February 2022.

__**How can you take part?**__
1. Participants may submit up to 4 photographs in total to ippartecipa@vca.gov.mt by not later than the 28th December 2021 at 17:00 (CET) to take part.
2. Photographs should be submitted via WeTransfer link in an email clearly indicating its title and which of the four themes inspired the photo.
3. Photographs submitted must be at least 240dpi to allow for large format printing. This is considered an eligibility criteria.
4. Participants must submit a signed copy of the Data Protection
 
__**Terms & Conditions **__
1. Participants must be over 18 years of age at the time of application to take part.
2. The copyright and intellectual property rights to the submitted photographs must belong to the person submitting.
3. Photographs submitted may have been taken at any time prior to the submission deadline.
4. The participant agrees that, if selected, the VCA is allowed to use the photograph in an exhibition in January/February 2022 and to use the image, in whole or in part, to market the exhibition and the project, TNAX.
 
__**How will the winning entries be chosen?**__
The winning photographs will be decided by a panel composed of curators, photographers and VCA representatives.
 
__**When can you apply?**__
Now! Deadline for submissions: 28th December, 17:00hrs (Malta time).
Late applications will not be considered.
 
__**Evaluation Criteria**__
 
A minimum of 24 points must be obtained to be considered eligible.
 
• Is the photo submitted original and its composition strong and meaningful? (pass mark12 points)
• Are the colours, lighting, and exposure balanced? (pass mark 6 points)
• How strong is the audience appeal? (pass mark 6 points)
