The Valletta Cultural Agency marked the commencement of its Christmas in the Capital programme this evening with the annual Republic Street and Merchants Street Christmas lights switch-on, and with the inauguration of Christmas trees erected at the city’s main entrance and in the main streets of Valletta, and a crib set up in St John’s Square.
The programme includes a plethora of festive events lined up till the 31st of December. These include bands, street walkers, choirs, and music performances by popular groups such as The New Victorians, MARA, Centrestage, Klinsmann, Tikka Banda, the Big Friends Guggen Musik, Tikka Banda, and Sterjotipi, among others.
The Christmas Lights Decorations in the City is supported by the Malta Chamber of SMEs.
