Minister for the National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government Owen Bonnici and Valletta Cultural Agency (VCA) Chairperson Jason Micallef announced the details regarding the much-awaited New Year’s Eve celebrations event in Valletta.
“Now that we are just a few weeks away from the end of the year, preparations in Valletta are in full swing to ensure a spectacular close to 2023 and usher in the new year with grand celebrations,” stated Minister Bonnici.
He highlighted the magnitude of the upcoming event, describing it as the largest national gathering during Christmas festivities. “The anticipation is high, with the participation of over 50,000 attendees expected to create a vibrant atmosphere and high-level performances from various distinguished local artists, undoubtedly marking the perfect conclusion to the year 2023,” concluded Minister Bonnici.
VCA Chairperson Jason Micallef stated that once again, the largest free New Year’s Eve celebrations will be taking place at the heart of Valletta. Mr Micallef extended an invitation to the public, urging them to visit the Capital City on New Year’s Eve. “Attendees are encouraged to partake in the festivities, relishing a delightful ambiance filled with joy and music. Together, let’s bid farewell to the current year and usher in the new one with warmth and celebration,” concluded Mr Micallef.
The event will be hosted by Ron, Taryn Mamo Cefai and Keane Cutajar.
The night will kickstart with Lara and the Jukeboys band. Then it’s up to the Special Guests for the night, The Palace String Orchestra led by Ryan Abela together with an outstanding line up of some of Malta’s top local talent including AIDAN, Drakard, Klinsmann, Jasmine, Megan May, Sarah Bonnici as well as special guest Emma Muscat.
Just before countdown the hosts, together with DJ Koroma & DJ Miggy will entertain the crowd in Valletta and those watching live on local TV stations with a special mash-up set of the best dance anthems together with stage special effects and fireworks to welcome the New Year in style.
The National New Year’s Eve Celebration is organised by G7 Events, supported by a Partnership Agreement with VCA within the Ministry for National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government, with the contribution of the Malta Tourism Authority.
