The Busker, with their new Front Man Dav. Jr, will be performing live in Republic Square, Under the Arches near the Bibliotheca, in Valletta, on Sunday 14th February, at 7pm.
Organised by the Valletta Cultural Agency, the Valletta performance will be a mix of original material and covers, with particular focus on bringing out that extra bit of emotion on Valentine’s Day. The public can expect a performance rich in energy, emotion and passion.
The set list includes songs by The Beatles, Christina Perri, Leon Bridges, Stereophonics, U2, Robbie Williams and Queen, among others.
Discussing Sunday’s performance, Dav. Jr said, “I definitely am looking forward to start off our public performances as the new Busker, and no better way to start than performing in our capital city itself!”
The band is made up of four different individuals, who all have their own preferred style of music, and this is what The Busker is all about. The band members incorporate each other’s inspirations into their original material and adapt their own playing according to the particular ideas and concepts with each song.
This is what they believe is the beauty of music – unity in diversity, in effect creating a special product.
The Busker has gone through a major overhaul in the past few months. With the addition of Dav. Jr as its new frontman, bringing with him years of experience in the local music scene, the band is currently experimenting with different pop variants while introducing nuance from nu funk, synth pop, and a plethora of other styles and influences.
The Busker is made up of drummer Jean Paul Borg, saxophonist Sean Meachen and bassist David Grech, together with Dav. Jr on guitar and vox.
