The end of 2022 is only a few days away and everything is ready in Valletta to end this year with a bang. Today Minister for National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government Owen Bonnici and Valletta Cultural Agency Chairman Jason Micallef announced the latest logistical plans before Saturday’s event in St George’s Square.
This is the biggest end of year event in Malta, to which more than 50,000 people are expected to attend. Around 40 local artists will be taking part in this celebration, which will start at 8:30pm and will continue till 2am.
During this visit, Minister for National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government Owen Bonnici said “This event builds on our commitment to celebrate culture in its various genres and on our commitment to continue supporting the talents of local artists while continuing to offer quality cultural activities in the Capital City and in various places in our country,” concluded Minister Owen Bonnici.
Valletta Cultural Agency Jason Micallef said the he is honoured that the Agency is once again hosting the largest New Year’s Eve celebrations ever staged in Malta. Micallef continued that after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, he looks forward to seeing St George’s Square full of life, entertainment and music to ring in the new year in style.
Kurt Calleja and Band kickstart the celebrations followed The Brass House Unit led by Kevin Abela, together with an outstanding line-up of some of Malta’s top singers including Aidan Drakard, Amanda Marie, Brooke, Gloriana Arpa Belli, Jasmine, Kevin Paul Calleja, Ludwig Galea, Owen Luellen, Ozzy Lino, Pawlu Borg Bonaci & Tiziana Calleja. They will be taking the audience through a musical journey featuring the best hits of 2022 as well as some all-time classics.
Just before countdown, The Brass House Unit together with DJ Debrii will entertain the crowd in Valletta and those who will be following the celebrations on local TV stations from the comfort of their homes, with a special up-tempo orchestral and electronic fusion performance with a mash-up of the best dance anthems of 2022, together with special effects on stage and fireworks to welcome the New Year. Finally. DJ Drey will be closing the night with a groovy and uplifting set.
The event will be hosted by Ron, Taryn Mamo Cefai, Claire Agius Ordway, and Clint Bajada.
The National New Year’s Eve Celebrations 2023 is organised by G7 Events, supported by a Partnership Agreement with the Valletta Cultural Agency within the Ministry for National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government.
