Prime Minister Robert Abela this morning visited the Valletta Green Festival in St George’s Square, Valletta, together with the Minister for National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government Owen Bonnici, Valletta Cultural Agency Chairman Jason Micallef and Valletta Cultural Agency CEO Catherine Tabone.
The 10th edition of the Valletta Green Festival opened on Friday 10th May and continues until Sunday 19th May.
The garden features an impressive 62 mature trees, 5,000 shrubs and bushes, 13,000 flowering potted plants and two ponds. Some of the trees reach heights of up to three meters, comprising a diverse selection of Mediterranean varieties such as Carob, Cypress, Canfora, Oleander, and Olive trees, many of which are between 60 to 80 years old. Spanning an area of 42.82 meters by 27.53 meters, visitors are provided ample space to wander and explore amidst this spring oasis.
