Daria Troitskaia’s ‘The Bus Stop’ which is part of the year-long exhibition TNAX, will be on display for a month between 1 February and 1 March.
The photographer recounts that this photo came about by some luck. She always regretted missing
The old Maltese buses but one day she came across one which was going to the area where she lived.
She loves that this is a framed composition of the new part of Valletta out of the old bus.
TNAX is curated by Therese Debono – a documentary photographer covering places, the streets and portraiture: endangered places, local interiors, and documentary portraiture are amongst the subjects she explores and interprets. Her personal projects include Maltese Interiors, Brides on Beds, Class of ‘93 and Portraits of Youth. The latter is a new project which she has started working on recently through her experience with students as a photography lecturer.
Daria Troitskaia is a portrait and documentary photographer residing in Malta. Born in Saint Petersburg, brought up in Vienna, and now living in Malta, storytelling and intriguing context are what make her pictures.
This project is created and produced by the Valletta Cultural Agency in collaboration with the Valletta Local Council.
