Join us for a powerful evening celebrating bravery, love, and strength in L’Alpino, a dramatic opera by Carlo Diacono. Set against the majestic backdrop of the Italian Alps, the opera follows the heroic journey of an Italian mountain soldier, tracing his struggles through perilous battles, emotional losses, and the unyielding courage of the Alpini troops.
Under the baton of Michael Laus, the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra brings this work of melodic beauty and emotional depth to life. The composition blends traditional operatic elements with evocative orchestration, capturing both the grandeur of the Alps and the intense experiences of the soldiers, all while infusing a unique Maltese and Italian influence.Featuring an exceptional cast of soloists, including sopranos Miriam Cauchi and Nicola Said, tenor Alan Sciberras, and basses Louis Andrew Cassar and Noel Galea, accompanied by the Goldberg Ensemble choir, this performance promises to be a moving and unforgettable experience.L’Alpino is being produced by the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra in collaboration with the Valletta Cultural Agency.
