A brainchild of the Golden Glitch and the Valletta Design Cluster, FiftySix promises monthly rendezvous where design and science inspire, chat and exchange. Held monthly in the foyer of the Valletta Design Cluster, it’s 56 minutes of sheer design inspiration.
Kicking off our series on the 27th September at 18.30, we have Prof. Philip Farrugia from the University of Malta. He’s championing PRIME-VR2, where Virtual Reality (VR) dons the cape to aid rehabilitation. And with the healthcare world giving VR a nod for diverse uses, PRIME-VR2 is more than just a nod; it’s a handshake. This collaborative venture, backed by a cool 4 Million Euros and 14 European partners, is piecing together a platform to make VR in rehabilitation a reality.
Then, shifting gears (or should we say galaxies?), we’ve got Dr. Michael Quinton. Ever thought about listening to the stars? Quinton did. With a PhD from Edinburgh Napier University, he’s been busy turning complex astronomical data into foot-tapping, ear-pleasing sounds. It’s astronomy meets symphony, and the results? Well, they’re music to astronomers’ ears.
But wait, there’s more! Once the sound of applause fades, dive into a networking session where exchanging business cards is old school. Exchange ideas instead.
