Altofest

Altofest inserts itself as an experimental sociality project, continuously retracing the boundary between what is public and what is private, to create an area of no-ownership. In this new, floating city, the field of possible relations is fertilised by the intrusion of strangers bringing with them their artistic “corpus”; artists and “space donor” citizens live together, sharing time and space. It is not only a matter of hosting an artist in a private house, but the daily presence of a working artist will contaminate the point of view of everybody living there, usually or occasionally. In line with the vision and the mission of the Valletta Cultural Agency, the Altofest Valletta edition is specifically designed for Valletta, as a follow-up to the nation-wide 2018 edition, involving citizens from different areas of the city, in dialogue also with the Valletta Design Cluster, the community space for cultural and creative practice.
