The EIT Urban Mobility RIS Hub Malta recently concluded its Youth Mobility Ambassadors Program, a collaborative initiative that empowered young Maltese citizens to share their insights on sustainable urban mobility.
The recently concluded Youth Mobility Ambassadors Programme, held throughout May, August, and September 2023, saw the vibrant participation of young Maltese citizens aged 16-25. Guided by the expertise of the Valletta Design Cluster, the collaborative initiative provided a dynamic platform for these youths to share their insights on sustainable urban mobility and its future in Malta.
With the primary objectives of gathering valuable input from the youth, developing recommendations for policymakers and urban mobility stakeholders, and promoting active participation in shaping Malta’s mobility landscape, the program sparked engaging discussions and innovative ideas. Through group work and consultations with various entities, the Youth Mobility Ambassadors successfully crafted an Action Plan filled with actionable recommendations aimed at enhancing sustainable urban mobility practices in Malta.
This initiative underscores the pivotal role of youth voices in shaping the future of mobility. Recognising their potential as changemakers, the Youth Mobility Ambassadors Program not only empowers young people to contribute their perspectives but also paves the way for a more inclusive and sustainable urban mobility environment in Malta.
