Creativity & Innovation Days at the Valletta Design Cluster as part of the World Creativity and Innovation Week
In 2018, the United Nations resolved to include World Creativity and Innovation Day, April 21st, as a ‘Day of Observance’ to encourage people to use creativity in problem-solving for all issues related to achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
The University of Malta’s Edward de Bono Institute for Creative Thinking and Innovation in collaboration with the Valletta Cultural Agency through the Valletta Design Cluster, and the Malta Crafts Foundation will be creating a set of events to celebrate World Creativity and Innovation Week (WCIW).
The interactive programme of events takes place between the 20th and the 22nd of April at the Valletta Design Cluster. Here a number of artisans will showcase their work and products, demonstrating how they engage with the production of these artefacts in innovative ways.
This year’s event will enable the public to gain insight into the world of these creatives, including local artisans, who will provide the opportunity to learn and even practice some of the skills they employ. Activities will include participating in talks, demonstrations and workshops, as well as contributing to suggestion boards.
This is a great opportunity for everyone to experience the creative energy happening at the Valletta Design Cluster while exploring the building and its facilities. Whether it’s a new innovative breakfast experience or afternoon tea or creating new items from something you have around the house, the aim is to involve the public in the world of these creatives.
Register here for any workshop, talk or demo that you would like to take part in.
