The community art festival Altofest will be taking Valletta by storm this month. Altofest is a project that takes the audience in people’s houses to see artistic performances.
As part of the project, several houses in Valletta are turned into performance spaces after a period in which nine international artists live with the residents and work to reimagine a city as a community, united through art, creating a relationship between artistic practices and daily life.
Titled “Out of the blue” the 2022 Valletta Altofest edition represents the link between all the performances scheduled from 14 to 16 October. With Artistic Direction and Curation by Anna Gesualdi and Giovanni Trono and Dramaturgy by Loretta Mesiti, Altofest invites us to dive into unusual, unexpected dimensions that seem to come out of the blue.
We invite you to trace and walk the hidden thread that binds the programme’s works, the underground path that unites them.
Altofest is a project by Teatringestazione in co-production with the Valletta Cultural Agency taking place with the support of the Italian Cultural Institute and EU-Japan Fest and is a follow-up to the Altofest Special Edition which took place in 2018. Altofest is an artistic project, born in Naples in 2011 and spread internationally through different special editions.
The festival is taking place in collaboration with the Valletta Design Cluster.
