This was announced today during a press conference by Valletta Cultural Agency Chairman Jason Micallef, CEO Catherine Tabone and MTA Chairman Gavin Gulia.
Following last year’s success, the Valletta Cultural Agency will continue to build on the show with a 10-minute firework spectacular from the Grand Harbour which will greet in the New Year. This will become an anual appointent for New Year’s Eve and may be enjoyed from all areas of the Grand Harbour.
As with previous years, the spectacle will be broadcasted live on all local television stations as from 10.30pm.
While entrance is free of charge, tickets on a first come first serve basis are to be collected from the Valletta Cultural Agency premises in Republic Street, Valletta, as from Thursday 9th December after 10am. A maximum of four tickets per person may be collected. Due to the current Health Authority regulations to combat the spread of Covid 19, tickets are limited.
The artists line-up will include John Newman, who is known for several popular songs including “Feel the Love”, “Not Giving In”, “Love Me Again”, “Fire in Me” and “Feelings”. In addition to Newman, Debrii and The Palace String Orchestra featuring Aidan, Gaia, Jasmine, Klinsmann, Megan and Ozzylino are also going to perform on New Year’s Eve. This event will be presented by Abel, JD and Martina.
The Valletta Cultural Agency is currently in discussions with the Malta Torusim Authority and with Health Depository Unit to ensure that all the necessary protocols will be followed.
The Valletta National New Year’s Eve 2021 Celebrations are organised by G7 Events and supported by a Partnership Agreement for Large-Scale Events and Initiatives provided by the Valletta Cultural Agency within the Ministry for National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government. The event is also supported by the Malta Tourism Authority.
